Alexis & Ian's Lake-Front Wedding at Shangri-La Estate

A rustic lakefront ceremony is a unique and picturesque way to exchange vows and start your life together. Imagine standing on the banks of a tranquil lake, surrounded by towering trees and lush greenery. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and a gentle breeze rustles the leaves in the trees. When Ian and Alexis decided to get married, they knew they wanted a wedding that was anything but traditional. So, they set their sights on a rustic lakefront ceremony, making this daydream their reality.
The couple chose Shangri-La Estate & Vacation Rental for their ceremony because it featured a secluded spot on the lake surrounded by surrounded by trees and wildlife. The ceremony itself was simple and intimate, allowing Ian and Alexis the chance to enjoy the peacefulness of nature while still being able to exchange their vows in front of their family and friends, perfectly shaded by their cherry wood arbor draped with white tulle and roses. Alexis and her bridesmaids held beautiful bouquets by Sola Wood Flowers that matched their rustic theme perfectly.
After the ceremony, the real fun began. Alexis and Ian transformed the lakeside into a tropical paradise with a large tiki hut reception space, natural decorations, and delicious tropical cocktails. The reception was a laid-back, rustic affair complete with a amazing music, a nacho bar by Ceyer's Taqueria, and plenty of pleasant surprises keeping everyone entertained. Alexis and Ian also had two cakes, a large cookie cake and groom's cake that was decorated as a whisky barrel by A Slice of Heaven bakery!
One of the highlights of the evening was when Ian's cousin had changed into a Scooby-Do costume, where guests could snap selfies with her while she danced on the dance floor. As the night went on, the party only got wilder, with guests dancing to the beat of the music and the illuminations from the string lights lighting up the night sky with the stars.
When the party finally came to an end, Alexis and Ian left their rustic lakefront ceremony and tiki reception with memories that they would cherish forever. It was a wedding that was truly one-of-a-kind and a perfect reflection of their laid-back, fun-loving personalities.
