Alex and Lisa's Wedding at Marie Selby Botanical Gardens

Journal and Imagery by Sarasota Wedding Photographers Popping Champaign Photography.

It was a beautiful summer day when Alex and Lisa exchanged vows at Marie Selby Botanical Gardens. Surrounded by lush greenery and colorful flowers, the couple tied the knot in a romantic outdoor ceremony that overlooked  Sarasota bay and Hudson Bayou, a location that offers the most exquisite view and an abundance of tranquility.

As Lisa walked down the aisle lined in flower petals from Beneva Flowers and arm-in-arm with her brother, she couldn't help but feel overwhelmed with emotion. The sun was shining, birds were singing, and all of their loved ones were there to witness their union.

The ceremony took place in a secluded area of the gardens, beneath a picturesque tree adorned with native flowers and greenery. As self-proclaimed "nerds," Lisa and Alex knew they wanted to incorporate their love of all things geeky into parts of their special day. The Lisa and Alex said their vows amidst a sea of blooming flowers, their love for each other and their interests on full display. During the ceremony, Lisa and Alex exchanged personalize vows that were so sweet that guests couldn’t help but be teary eyed, and both vows also included the phrase "I love you 3000" - a nod to their favorite Marvel movie.

Lisa wore the most beautiful gown from David's Bridal that featured beautiful lace detail and sparkled in the sun! Alex wore a navy suit from Hugo Boss, which he paired with Glorious Purpose Loki socks, another nod to their love for Marvel.

After the ceremony, the newlyweds and their guests celebrated with a reception at Marie Sebly's Event Center which was decorated by planner Affairs in the Air and included the most beautiful view of the sun setting over the bay and a view of their gardens. The reception featured delicious food from Michael's on East, great music from Tamik Entertainment that resulted in non-stop dancing, and plenty of photo opportunities amidst the beautiful surroundings as guests sipped champagne.

One of the highlights of the reception was the wedding cake, which was a work of art in and of itself. The multi-tiered cake was adorned with delicate details, including a cake topper that read "I love you 3000."

As the evening came to a close and the sun set on the gardens, Lisa and Alex left the reception hand-in-hand, ready to start their new life together as husband and wife. It was a day that they would never forget, and one that their friends and family would always cherish. They left the reception feeling like true superheroes, ready to take on the world as a team.

"Zoe & Damara were absolutely the best photographers that anyone could hope for. Not only have the pictures been absolutely breathtaking of our special day, Zoe & Damara were an absolute dream to work with. They were fun, friendly, and easily blended in with everyone. I swear every guest at my wedding made it a point to let me know how kind, fun, and awesome my photographers were. Love love love!!"
